Installing a drainage system is just as important and essential in dry years as it is in wet years.  Water table management is now being integrated into the systems.  Farmers may be able to pump water back into the system and bring the water table up or be able to close the outlet to retain water in the system for later use.  The system can also lower the water table in the spring, creating a deep and strong root structure.
